AI and the Importance of the Artist

Will Art Save Us All?

We now live in a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence — where machines can mimic almost everything, especially in the creative industries. AI can replicate a voice, create artwork, and even write emotionally complex scripts.

But here’s the truth: What makes us sacred is that we are imperfect.

And we were never meant to be anything else.

Art reveals the raw beauty of being human in a way no machine ever could. That’s why being an actor today isn’t just a creative pursuit — it’s an act of preservation.

Being an actor isn’t only about entertaining anymore. It’s about bearing witness. It’s a historical recording of who we are, as fragile, strong, feeling beings spinning on a rock in an infinite universe.

Acting allows us to truly see ourselves — in all our confusion, love, rage, joy, and sorrow. It reminds us how to feel in a world that’s trying to make us numb. And it shows us that numbness is not a place where world in which we can thrive.

As AI grows smarter and faster, we risk becoming emotionally, spiritually, and physically undernourished — and dangerously overstimulated.

Acting brings us back to ourselves. It demands presence. It asks for empathy and compassion in ways that AI will never be capable of.

At TMH, we believe art doesn’t just survive chaos — it transforms it. And in doing so, it transforms lives.

Being an actor is sacred. It’s a journey. It’s work. It’s a calling. And it might be one of the most important jobs of our time.

Storytelling is ancient and universal — a sacred thread woven through every culture on earth. AI isn’t going away. In fact, we use it every day — in airplane autopilot, CGI films, video games, search engines, and more. We can’t avoid it.

But what we must protect is our humanity.

The value of being human can never be replaced — and this is where you, our gentle actors, come in.

Your role in this chaotic world is essential.

So yes, it’s tough.

Yes, it can feel overwhelming.

But never give up, never surrender (to quote a wonderful favourite film) because without our artists…We lose our humanity.
